Studio N16 began when a child approached us to say there was no school for him to go to when he wanted to learn dance. From there, we set up Studio N16, and we haven’t looked back since.
The dance studio was set up by Micha Blue and her husband Terry, who is known locally as Blue. They wanted more young men to get involved in dance and performing arts. Since then, hundreds of students have learned to dance and act at Studio N16, and your child could be next on that list.
The school’s initial focus is on boys-only classes with street dance, tap and ballet at its core. Mixed classes are also available. Micha’s background involves working with children within musical theatre and Blue, who comes from a footballing background, knows only too well the value of stretches, warm-ups, movement and confidence gained through the various genres of dance that Studio N16 has to offer. With professional and inspirational teachers, the school aims to ensure affordable classes for all by providing a flexible membership and payment plan without the need of being tied to long term contracts. This is because we believe that dance should be for everyone and enjoyed by all.
Micha's management experience ranges from a West End hair salon to a popular Soho diner. Leaving in the early nineties for Montreal, she rediscovered her love of children and the arts so when she returned, she turned to teaching children dance. Micha has worked with children in the borough of Hackney for over 19 years and now runs Studio N16.
